WHERE I'M GOING...YOU CAN'T COME

Where I'm going, you can't come.

That's right, there's no room for you to stay with me, or more so,

For me to keep dragging you with me.

When I say you...it's all those little things I think need to stick around,

That I think I need to hold onto.

Some, for just in case,

Others, for what they meant,

Or for what I'm not quite ready to let go of yet.

Yet, letting you stick around for another season, year, decade is just excess weight

I'm pulling from one season to another.

Every time I see you, touch you, I think...I'll get to you soon,

Yet soon never comes.

You just continue to collect dust and linger over me for yet another day...whispering 'one day'

So today I decided...you can't come with me.

Where I'm going there's no longer the space for you,

Or more so, I'm no longer giving you that space - physically or mentally.

For where I'm going, you're no longer needed.

I thought I'd need more time than I did to let you go, to remove you,

Yet I didn't,

For a moment it surprised me, then I quickly realised, I'd let go more than I thought,

This whole time has been the process of letting go, quietly, unknowingly, yet also knowingly.

The moment I let one thing go, the ripple effect started,

Throwing, tossing, burning, cutting, dumping, rearranging,

Releasing it all.

For there is no room.

To say I feel lighter is an understatement, I feel like a feather.

Who knew, that all those things at one point were important, are no longer important,

And letting them go, lifted the weight.

Grateful sits amongest it all too...because without it all, today wouldn't exist as it does. Today looks different because of it all.

And with that...where I'm going, you can't come.
