Just three more days left of my summer holiday and it’s back into it and I can’t wait. I’ve been spending my last week back home in Dargaville at my Dad’s place. I love coming home. A time to just chill out in the middle of nowhere, where we can enjoy the peaceful countryside and forget about time for a while.
I remember as a kid, all I wanted to do was live in town, where everything was happening. It’s not until my adult years that I’ve learnt to really appreciate and LOVE this place that will always be home to me.
My Dad is still in the house that I was born in, there are three bedrooms and ten of us staying here, with more arriving tonight. So it’s all about top and tailing, throwing mattresses on the ground and finding a space wherever you can. The kids love it and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The kids are living in the pool, hanging out for the morning and afternoon farm visits and helping yourself to food whenever you feel the need.
The 2nd week of 2018 has been great and I’m so looking forward to getting back into the studio and meeting some of you amazing humans this year. My word for this year is ‘Adventure’ and so far my adventure has consisted of water skiing (after 9 years since my last one), first time skinny dipping (OMG how free does that feel) learning to surf, trip up north, and a couple of concerts.
I hope 2018 has been awesome for you so far. Tell me, have you got a word for this year?
