I cleaned out my pantry today...haha exciting stuff, well overdue. We've been living in this home for a year this week and this is the first time ekkk that I've cleaned it out. It was on my mind for so long, but I kept putting it off. I was dodging it like no other. The kitchen is not my area of expertise...those who know me well, know I hate being in the kitchen, but mum duties call often so it's a place I find myself more than I'd wish to be. Anyway, my son helped me out. His question was 'Why do we have to clean it out' To which I replied 'Because there's a lot of shit hidden in here and a lot we probably don't need anymore' Which then turned into a little story on life. This guy isn't one to go deep if you're to sit him down, he's a hands on kinda dude and I know this is how he learns best. Me on the other hand haha I see life lessons everywhere...and so we chatted. There's a space I was ignoring, because it doesn't excite me, but at the same time because it's not organised and clear, it can stress me out....not knowing what we have in there. When it's all clear and organised, I feel like a whole lotta space has just opened up in my mind...and I think I cook better because of it...They did say the cheese only pizza I made tonight was the best ever haha. Same goes with anything we choose too ignore. We can keep packing things in there, on top of everything else, but over time if we don't deal to it, it just builds up a whole lotta things for us which brings on stress, frustration...all sorts. So the more we clear things out, as they come up...like wiping up the mess as soon as it happens, our minds are left to be free. Life is challenging at times, I will never dismiss that. But I think we make things harder for ourselves than they need to be at times. In any given moment we get to speak to what's coming up for us, we get to make adjustments where we see necessary, we get to put a stop to anything that drains our energy and we get to toss out anything that's past it's expiry date that we're still holding onto. To keep things fresh in life, we've got to keep fresh ourselves, which means cleaning out our internal rooms within us, finding what works for us as an individual so we can bring our true self to the table in our work, in our relationships, in anything we wish to put our hand too. What you ignore may seem easier at the time to do, but it will only build over time and become bigger than what it needs to be. What you deal to as you go along may seem big & scary first off, but you will soon see it makes you and your life more free & easy.
