FIND WHAT STABILISES YOU

We all have that one thing that stabilises us, that one thing that no matter how hard we try to think there's got to be more to it, we always full towards it.

That very thing that stabilises you has always been a part of you. It's actually your purpose in this world. There will be times when others may have said there needs to be more than that, that you need to look else where, that that one thing is not sufficient, and in some cases, possibly at times others have tried to pull you away from that as they don't see it as important....and in turn, you start to wonder if they're right.

Yet it is important, it's so important to you being you.

It's important to your wellbeing and to holding you in good stead.

It's an important part that supports all other areas of your world.

It's that one thing that settles you, that brings you back to your centre.

It's that one thing that has your mind wondering towards it often,

It's that one thing that when you allow yourself to be in it, you light up, you soften, you feel all things start to flow.

It's that one thing that even when you're challenged by it, you lean in more, it can never fully push you away, it only wants to pull you in closer.

It's that one thing where you find yourself being able to fully breathe & hear more of your truth.

We could say we have many things that do this...I see it as we have one strong stabiliser with sub-stabilises to blend with it to support it even more so.

For me it's creativity.

I dream of having a creative studio space again - I see it, I feel it.

A space to explore all creative sides of me, where I can create a mess to bring through something beautiful and weave it all together.

My mind is always creating.

Creating images, visuals in my minds eye.

The feeling I get when the image in my mind is transferred on to printed paper, that feeds me.

When I write, when I sketch, when I photograph.

When I put my hand to what I see in my mind, it has meaning, anchored by a story or feeling.

My sub-stabiliser is movement - it's what supports my creativity.

It supports it to come through stronger. When movement is down or slower, so is my creativity. Movement in many forms, another form of expression allows all the juices to start flowing.

We all have something different that stabilise us.

Even if it lands under the same category as others, it will still be different,

It will be in the very way that it comes to you, to be done.

And when we find that, we must honour that part of us and do more of it, and let it blend into our lives.

And when you see it in others...honour that part of them too, encourage them to do, be, more of that.

We become better, stronger, kinder people when we honour those parts of ourselves & others.

For some it's cooking up a storm, running long distances, being out or in the water.

For others it's sitting having conversations with people or bringing as many people as they can together.

It could be climbing a mountain, growing or gathering food, keeping environments clean & in order, singing your little heart out or travelling the world.

Whatever it is, when you do what stabilises you, you get to bring that to others.

That is the gift you've been given to share...in your way, and only in your way.

When I say find it...you don't need to find it.

It's already there...you already know it...you know it so well,

You just have to acknowledge it, own it, honour it, lean into it, stand strong in it and let it move you.

When you give space to it, it moves, it shifts, its strengthens and bit by bit, it brings more clarity to more of you and the world.

So what is it for you?
