Fruit trees don't produce fruit all year round... A few words a good friend said to me just the other day when I told him I hadn't been writing, nothing was coming to me. For the last couple of weeks I've felt shut down on my writing. Nothing was coming through me like it normally does. It happens once or twice a year. It's in these times I wonder if it will come back, but it always does...I start to feel it bubbling inside of me again. As a tree loses it's leaves to then produces more beautiful leaves and begins to blossom again, We are forever going through different seasons of life, it's always adjusting, changing, As are we...and will always continue to do so. Sometimes silence is the best thing for us. Sometimes putting the breaks on is what's needed. Sometimes putting focus elsewhere is required. Producing the fruit...your art...it's important, absolutely, But feeling the need to produce it daily isn't always required, necessary, the most important thing. Over the past six months, a lot of things internally has been changing for me. My mind is being opened up to new ways of seeing things, living, being, accepting. Every time we allow ourselves to try new things in life, we will always come across new ways of seeing life and the world. I find this fascinating actually and it always sees me being challenged. It's heighten many things within me at times. It's closed me down to open me back up even more so. It's shown me where my limits are at present. It's shown me where my boundaries are strong and blurred. It's shown me how our own beliefs can be challenged at times. It's shown me more than ever to really ask myself what I need in each moment...and to follow through no matter how hard it can seem and be. It's in the times when you feel like all your leaves are falling away, leaving you feeling so bare and at times vulnerable, that you can feel so pushed up against the wall of life, wondering, what next... Yet..it's also in those times (if you're anything like me) you have this knowing and trust within you, that if you can just see this stage through, that you will start to notice growth has been happening the whole time...not everything is visible to us at all times. I think the biggest grow is done in silence, in solitude... the space and time that you give yourself to go inwards to really know yourself even more so. And the more you go in, the juicier your fruits will become. Trust that every feeling, every season you're going through, is simply just part of the process...Trust it.
