'I CAN DO IT MYSELF'...WAS KILLING ME

There's a belief I've held onto for so long...it's softened over time, some days I don't notice it, yet other days it sneaks back in. In the days I get all up in my head it comes back to me, until I ask it to leave again. That belief 'I CAN DO IT MYSELF' When I look at this belief, it doesn't support me most of the time, This belief was one I've held on to since way back as a way of proving myself to people, Yet I know now, I need not prove myself to anyone. And even though these words sneak back in at times, what has helped soften it and continues to do so, is simply by switching it around, and doing the opposite and this is what it's found me to do. I can do it myself... So I started working with different coaches over the years. I can do it myself... So I started to ask for help or accept help. I can do it myself... So I hired a cleaner to support me at home. I can do it myself... So I started giving my kids back the responsibilities within our household for themselves. I can do it myself... So I started to open myself up to the idea of a relationship again. I can do it myself... So I started to say NO to things that really didn't sit well with me. We all have beliefs, but the questions is are the beliefs you're living with, are they even true, are they yours or are they someone else's. Do your beliefs serve you or do they limit you. When you look at your beliefs, how do they make you feel...you know in your heart if they are holding you back. And with every belief you get to change it, you can let it go and take on another one. This one of mine, has been so ingrained in me since a teenager...it has served me at times yes, in times when I've had no other choice but to pick myself back up, to have my own back when curve balls are thrown at me or when I'm wanting to try something new for myself, so I'm ok if a part of it stays with me...but with it, I get to pick another belief to walk along side it for most of the time, because this belief on it's on doesn't support me - I know this now. What beliefs are you holding onto that don't serve you. Look at them, and if they're not for you...choose another and see what actions you can do to help create a new one for you.
