IT'S ALL JUST A CHOICE

It's all just a choice. Every step in life is a choice. All those years ago when I felt like a total failure in myself, Yet I knew and felt like I wanted more for myself, I just had to choose And to this day, I still have to choose and it's not always easy, but I know it's right. I had to choose to left my head up when so much of me wanted to keep it down. I had to choose to go and study even though I had never studied much at school and didn't know if I could. I had to choose to walk away from my relationship because I knew it wasn't the right one for me anymore. I had to choose to ignore those who look sideways at me or even ignore me when I share my writing with the world, I had to choose to walk away from those who were unable to hold space for me to be all of who I was. I had to choose to stop conversations I really didn't want to be in simply because they deflated me, I had to choose to speak up to those I care about when I felt a line had been crossed, or I had crossed a line, I had to choose to not keep pouring a drink everytime shit got hard for me, I had to choose to show up how I wish to show up no matter what anyone else thinks of me, I had to choose, because only I know what is right for me, just as you only know what is right for you. I had to choose, because I know why I do what I do, my reason is nothing to do with me, not really, it's so much more than that, so much bigger than that. Everything comes down to choosing...choosing what is right for us. Sometimes the choices we have to make are not easy ones at all, But in the end we have to choose.
