WE'VE STOPPED FEELING...

We have stopped feeling and moved to too much thinking. We allow our thoughts to control us. Thinking, Thinking, Thinking What should we do, How do we do something, Weighing everything up inside our minds, Wondering what others will think, Asking others what they think, what they think is best for us. Instead of just feeling. Feeling into what is right for us. Your body is your messenger. It is sending you messages always, every day, multiple times a day. When you're excited - you feel it. When you're angry, frustrated, sad - you feel it. When you're grieving - you feel it. When you're frightened - you feel it. When you're happy - you feel it. When you're in love - you feel it. You see...you feel every emotion. Yet what many don't do is listen to those feelings. Sometimes you can be going about your day And suddenly something you have been trying to figure out (with your brain) comes into your body as a feeling, a little message, a quiet whisper. This is the perfect time to open up and listen. This is your message of what is right for you. You may not like what you feel...you may love what you feel. You may be excitedly nervous with what you feel, Either way, if you learn to follow these feelings, listen to these feelings you have been given, this will see you living a life that is true, simply for you. Sometimes when I write, words are just spilling out of me, I have no idea what is coming, it just does and then afterwards a big wave of excitement or nervousness comes over me. When I first drove into Mt Maunganui for the first time back in 2002, I knew no one, I just felt this was the place that was right for my daughter and I to live and build a life. When a woman stands in front of my lens and suddenly I see the shift in her eyes, in her stance, of owning every part of who she is in that moment, I feel it in my body and I know in that moment I have created a portrait that is her just as she is truly. I can recall many times in my earlier life where I listened and followed through just on my feelings, however I lost or ignored it for quiet sometime and it's just in the last few years that I've started to get it back again, and even more so over the last year. Sometimes I love it but there are differently times I just don't want to listen to it, because well 'what if I make a mistake and my feelings are lying and wrong', ignoring them seems so much more easier...but I now believe they're not wrong, they're my truth. It's time to start trusting in yourself again, Start trusting in all the feelings that are coming up for you. Sometimes these feelings can be a little challenging to understand, sometimes you can't make rhyme or reason of why you're feeling the way you do, sometimes nothing actually happens for you to feel a certain way, you simply are just feeling a message that is for you. If you can take yourself to a moment in your life when you felt something, yet you ignored it. And it didn't really become crystal clear to you until possibly years later. You quiet possibly said to yourself 'If only I had listened to myself back then' - you know, when that feeling came up, that little whisper... They are the messages been sent to you just for you. But don't worry, life turns out just as it's meant to, Forgive yourself for not listening to those messages, You can only work from today onwards...it's all about learning, it's all about coming back to you and trusting in you again. Your feelings, your true feelings, never lie to you. Don't be afraid to follow your feelings, they may just take you to a better place
