Here's to feeling a little crazy always...
More confidence, less anxiety, less fear, no self-doubt! When we have this, We will feel much better within ourselves, right? Well, for years I have been working on this, I’ve wanted more confidence. I’ve wanted less anxiety, I’ve wanted no fear, I’ve wanted no self-doubt. And although I’ve come a long way on each of those, I find myself still wanting more. So just recently, I realised, I don’t think those feelings will ever go away! Damn it all... Realising that made me feel

Don't loose your playfulness in amongst life.
The other day during my daughter’s swimming class I got talking to a lady, our kids also go to the same daycare. She was telling me how she’s now doing ballet classes and has a show coming up in July. She hasn’t done ballet since she was a young teenager. I could tell she was pretty happy to be back dancing. She mentioned how she doesn’t have the body type as you’d expect of a ballerina, but she is excited to have her daughters see her in the show and she is having so much fun d

Can you make my arms smaller, Can you whiten my teeth, Can you pull my tummy in, Can you remove my scar Can you take away the bags under my eyes, Can you make me thinner, Can you give me more curves, Can you make my bum smaller, Can you change the way I look – just slightly! Yes,Yes I can, But I really don’t want to. I watched the Embrace Documentary...
Last year I was booked in to see the Embrace documentary in Auckland but ended up in bed on the day it was showing. So last night after being inspired by Makaia Carr, I decided to watch it. I have never gone through a physical body transformation quite like Makaia Carr & Taryn Brumfitt have done, instead my body transformation has been more mentally than physically. My body weight hasn’t changed a lot over the years, I have been both healthy & unhealthy and for most of my lif

Life: Online vs Reality
Online vs Reality, We all know it never looks the same, yet so many of us still look and marvel at other people’s lives, wishing ours looked the same or felt the same. So after being inspired by my good friend Healthy Wealthy Wonderful with Tiffany Matthews after her online vs reality post last week, I thought I’d share mine – especially after the night I’ve just had. Let’s start with the reality shall we…After arriving home later than normal, no dinner thought of and three v

Putting myself in my clients shoes...
These days I love having my portrait taken, I do it often for my business, however this time round was a little different.I was doing it for a number of reasons…. One…to refresh Dom’s portfolio as she is coming on board with me as another photographer (freaking exciting) Two…to see how Dom connected, posed & photographed an individual, Three…For me to understand how my clients feel, to try something different, and for me to have some beautiful portraits of me now that I have

What if I'm not...But what if you are?...
What if I’m not photogenic just like people have told me? What if she really can’t take a good photo of me? What if my clothes just aren’t right for photos? What if I get so nervous I look like a stunned mallet? What if people think I’m silly or vain for getting photos done of myself? What if, what if, what if….. So many thoughts can run through your head it can send you spinning.Instead of the above, imagine this… What if, I could show you that you are capable of having a be

My mothers day gift...
I treated myself to an early mothers day gift a couple of weeks ago and that was to have some portraits taken in the studio with my girls and boys. I love the style of photography I do and I love being able to create images for all the women I get to photograph and I too really wanted the same for me and my kids. On my 21st birthday, Summa and I had portraits taken in this style of photography so having it done with my 3 other kids was something I really wanted. One of my mak

A woman’s face has many stories
A woman’s face has many stories, She’s not just what you see in the photograph, There’s so much more depth to her. What attracts me to the women I photograph Is her energyHer passion Her ideas Her laugh Her ability Her quiet or loud personality Her strength Her knowledge Her relationships with those close to her I see past her looks. Each one of them has many layers, Each one of them has a different story, Each one of them have been on a different journey. Don’t judge a woman
